Walkoff Picture Perfect Ending In Victory Over Kaiser

Kahala, Hawaii - A walk-off single propelled Kalani to a decisive, dramatic victory over Kaiser, 4-3. The game was tied at three with two outs, and Travis Toyama on second base in the bottom of the thirteenth. Tyler Bender's throws a wild pitch allowing Toyama to advance to third. Kekoa Gabriel comes to bat and hits a line drive into left field scoring Toyama with the winning run.
Kaiser got things started in the first inning when Kennedy Chun singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
Riece Myers took the win for the Falcons. He went five innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out two and walking one.
Pono Lyman started the game for Kaiser. He went four and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out four. Edward Lee started the game for Kalani. He allowed seven hits and two runs over eight innings, striking out two.
Kalani tallied 16 hits. Travis Toyama, Kekoa Gabriel, Kaden Stremick, Ian Higa, and Kai Matsumoto each racked up multiple hits for the Falcons. Gabriel and Toyama each collected three hits to lead Kalani.
Kalani hosts Leleihua this afternoon at 1:00 pm at Kahala Community Park for fifth place in the OIA Playoff and the final OIA entry in the State Tournament. Boxscore
