Falcons Pound Cougars 14-9
Honolulu, Hawaii--Kaiser scored seven runs in the seventh inning, but Kalani Falcons Varsity still won 14-9 on Saturday.
Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. Kalani collected 14 hits and Kaiser had ten.
Kaiser knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the third inning, scoring two runs.
The Falcons pulled away for good with six runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Kekoa Gabriel singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Noah Nakasone singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, a wild pitch allowed four runs to score for Kalani.
Gabriel earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for Kalani. He allowed four hits and two runs over five innings, striking out one. Max Patterson, Ed Lee, and Riece Myers entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Kalani tallied 14 hits on the day. Kaden Stremick, Chad Kagawa, and Kai Matsumoto each collected multiple hits. Matsumoto, Kagawa, and Stremick each collected two hits to lead the Falcons. Boxscore
