Falcons beats Rough Riders 5-2
Connor Zalewski went 2-3 as Kalani took home a 5-2 victory over Roosevelt in seven innings at Stevenson on Saturday.
Zalewski singled in the first inning and doubled in the fifth inning.
Duke Fujii looked sharp on the mound. Fujii gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his four innings of work.
In the top of the first, Kalani grabbed the early lead, 2-0. Hunter Lau kicked things off for the Falcons with a single. A stolen base then moved Lau from first to second. Jarryn Wee singled, scoring Lau. The Falcons added more runs when Wee scored on an error.
After a quick strike from Kalani, Roosevelt responded with two runs in the bottom of the first.
Kalani went up for good in the fifth, scoring three runs on an RBI double by Zalewski, a groundout by Noah Nakamura, and an RBI single by Payton Awaya. Boxscore
